3MinuteELT: What should ESL Teachers know about Dyspraxia?
If you're an ESL or EFL teacher who doesn't know much about dyspraxia, then this video is for you. Find out more about teaching ESL students with dyspraxia using our lovely ESL blog https://www.twinkl.com/l/196bc6 or we have some great resources like this informative PowerPoint https://www.twinkl.co.uk/l/yt54q or this fantastic poster https://www.twinkl.co.uk/l/1i4gye
It's a little bit about some of the signs of dyspraxia, so we can recognise it in the classroom, and a few ideas for strategies that'll help your student with dyspraxia get the most out of their classes. The most important thing? Remember that dyspraxia is something that your student will have for their whole life, but it doesn't define who they are, or how highly they can achieve. It's our job to build them up from their strengths, and help them have a great experience in education.
This special educational need affects their gross motor skills and their fine motor skills in particular. Find out more about them here https://www.twinkl.co.uk/l/1lbk7q and you can try activities like this https://www.twinkl.co.uk/l/1avtp8. If you have students with ADHD, you might want to check out this video https://youtu.be/SN36rremMyI
