What’s happening in this Closer movie clip?
Alice and Dan are in the States on vacation. While in a hotel room celebrating being back together. After bringing up Larry, Dan asks her whether she had sex with him. She initially denies it, but when Dan comes back from going to get cigarettes and instead brings back a rose, she says she doesn't love him anymore and that she did sleep with Larry. Dan reveals that Larry had already told him about the escapade, but he says he forgives her. She insists that it's over and tells him to leave. The argument culminates in Dan slapping Alice.

What’s the Closer movie about?
Dan (Jude Law from The Holiday and Repo Men) is a failed writer who works on a newspaper obituary column. He witnesses an accident involving a stranger hit by a cab, Alice (Natalie Portman from Black Swan and Jackie). From that moment on, they fall madly in love. Dan writes a book about Alice's life. After a photo shoot for the new book, he falls in love with Anna (Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman and Eat, Pray, Love), the photographer. Unfortunately for Dan, Alice soon realizes this and Anna refuses to see him again. As a game, Dan arranges a meeting between Larry (Clive Owen from Children of Men and Close my eyes), a man he met on the internet, and Anna, in order to make her feel uncomfortable. The game turns short because Larry and Anna get together. The problem is that Dan and Anna love each other. From then on, the film sets up a crossfire between the two couples where feelings, hatred and love coexist.
