در این بیماری ها هم عضلات ارادی اندام ها و هم عضلات غیر ارادی مانند عضله قلب یا روده ها ممکن است خراب و ضعیف شوند. این بیماری ها ارثی هستند یعنی از والدین به فرزند منتقل میشوند و همچنین پیشرونده هستند یعنی علائم آنها به مرور زمان بیشتر میشود.
