How to make and install an outdoor shade curtain
Watch how to make and install an outdoor shade curtain. The curtain is retractable and is mounted on stainless steel wire ropes using balustrade fittings.
The wire ropes can take the weight of the curtain and rods as they are distributed across three wires.

The entire project cost me $180 (AUS)
To be cost effective I used pine timber for the rods as other material was too expensive. I looked into aluminium however this was 4x the cost over pine.
The pine didn't come in 3.6m lengths so I had to join two pieces together making a rabbit and then gluing and screwing together.
