A Lilac Breasted Roller bird tries to take out a dangerous centipede insect in the road. Incredibly rare wildlife sighting of prey battling for its life from the Kruger National Park.

Short description: We came across a beautiful Lilac Breasted Roller in the road one afternoon on our 16 day trip to the Kruger National Park. After stopping, we saw that it had a centipede in its beak which it was trying to kill. Every time the bird dropped the dangerous insect, it would try to run away and occasionally fought back. After watching for a few minutes, the colorful roller picked up the centipede and flew away with it. This was great to watch as I love these birds and they don't usually stay in one place for very long!!
